Unlocking your inner artist
Selvey Studios
What kind of student is Selvey Studios looking for?
If you are serious about investing in your progress as an aspiring or current musician, Jeremiah wants you. He specializes in teaching voice, conducting, and musicianship to all levels and theory and piano to beginning and intermediate students. Since he is a college music professor, he can especially assist with college music prep, as well as audition prep for roles and gigs. He expects you to perform as often as you possibly can–recitals, competitions, auditions, etc
What goals does Selvey Studios have for its students?
Jeremiah’s goal for his students beyond performing as much as possible is growth primarily in the following areas. While the balance of the focus for these areas will vary from student to student, these are his focuses:
Your expression and passion, your ability to transport the audience and to embody the art, not merely be an entertainer.
Your ability to read and understand the language of music (reading music, informed style).
Your command of technique, such that you can execute your expressive goals and demonstrate increasing efficiency in your performance area.
You have increased enjoyment and fun in performing, managing anxiety in productive and healthy ways.
